DJ Po and Friends 5th Annual fundraiser to purchase Holiday toys for mothers and children escaping Domestic Violence. Working in partnership with Raphael House Portland. 54 Hours of Amazing Music brought to you by the finest DJs on Twitch. All money raised goes to purchasing brand new toys that the wonderful Raphael House PDX will distribute to mothers and children.
Hello, my name is Craig, and I am a survivor of domestic violence as a child. When I was child, there were no options for me. I was forced out of the home to survive at a young age. That is why I have been raising money for the last 6 years to bring mothers and children escaping domestic violence brand new toys year-round, especially for X-mas.
For the previous 5 years, I have worked with Raphael House Portland, https://raphaelhouse.com. I have raised funds by DJing and then take the funds to buy a truckload of holiday toys. I then deliver them to Raphael House PDX, who in turn gives them to the mothers and children who need the most cheer.
I know that leaving a home of violence is the darkest and scariest moment of a child's life. Also, it is not easy for a woman to make the brave choice to leave in order to protect themselves and their children. I have hoped that by giving these children a toy and comic books, a spark of hope will give them the strength to dream of a better tomorrow.
I have partnered with DJ Rascer, Riley More, Mortasha Kinski and Bearkub_, on December 6th to 8th, we have organized DJ Po and Friends, an open-format genre fluid charity raid train with awesome DJs from around the world. DJs will donate all proceeds from their set to the fundraiser to buy toys for the kids this year. With those funds, we hope to deliver the biggest amount of toys yet for the families Raphael House PDX helps. Last year we raised $5457 to purchase toy be for infants to mid-teens.
