A monthly event which motivates people to try out streaming ideas they've never done before.
The only *rule is that you do something new/different/challenging. This could include, but wouldn't be limited to:
1. Stream location: taking it mobile, a different room, in the garden, etc.
2. (Sub)genre: in this sense, the event is open format, but you'd need to play something you've never played before
3. Hardware: downsizing/adding/incorporating or testing something new
4. Performance/mixing style: not beatmatching instead of syncing /scratching/using 3 or 4 decks/finger drumming/beat juggling n looping/adding new FX within software or on hardware
5. Anything else which you've been afraid to try out on a live audience: a live music instrument, knitting needles with diodes to control a midi device, lol!
Also from this episode, you could choose one of these SET CHALLENGES:
· crate/playlist swap challenge: pick 50 tunes and swap them with another DJ on the line up. You could do this without knowing which genre you’ll receive for an extra level of challenge!
· 3 or 4 deck challenge: apart from your intro, you have to have 3 or 4 tracks running at all times!
· artist(s) challenge: your set must contain music only produced by this/these artist(s)
· tune name challenge: you have to play tunes whose title fits a lexical theme (e.g., Nature theme - so tracks with words 'tree, wood, flower, bird etc. in them)
· label challenge: only tunes out on this label.
· random tune generator challenge: roll a dice or use a random number generator to determine the next track in your crate that you play. NOTE: You could actually do this in advance of you set and plan how to mix it.
*Try to embrace the ethos and push your sonic, tech, workflow, or performance boundaries (adding a new camera or OBS screen isn't really doing this!)
