About the event
Welcome to The Trainwreck, a raid train in which mistakes are ENCOURAGED!
Is there a genre, technique, skill, or piece of equipment that you've always wanted to learn or try, but you've felt intimidated to do so?
The goal behind the TrainWreck is to get out of our comfort zone and try something brand new for the very first time. Oftentimes my biggest growth has been when I held my feet to the fire and just put myself out there.
Here are a few examples of what that could look like:
- Mixing a new genre (doesn't have to be electronic)
- Mixing on DJ equipment you've never used before:
- CDJs
- The cheapest controller ever
- Virtual Reality
- Vinyl
- Vintage equipment
- Incorporating a new trick into your routine:
- Using a third/fourth deck
- Scratching
- Mixing ear-only
- Teaching someone new how to DJ in real-time
- Trying to DJ whilst wearing an inflatable dino suit
If you're a seasoned DJ, think outside the box; if you've "been there done that", is there something else you could do that could present a challenge? Maybe a limitation of some sort?
If you are participating and can't think of anything you'd like to try, please reach out on Discord so we can brainstorm some ideas.
