PROSTATE CANCER. One in eight men will develop cancer of the prostate gland. Typically men over fifty and/or have a family history of the disease in their father or brother should have their PSA (prostate specific antigen) checked. If this is raised above a certain level and found in the early stages, treatment can save lives. Treatment may be removal of the prostate, hormone therapy to reduce the size, or a combination of hormones and radiotherapy. Research into the effectiveness and positive outcomes of the various treatments is essential. Trance Addicts have partnered with Prostate Cancer UK to raise monies to fund this work and save lives.
